A website says I need Java:
Java is needed to play games, watch videos, etc. Go to the Java website.  Click FREE JAVA DOWNLOAD and
follow the on-screen prompts.


A website says I need Flash Player:
Flash Player is needed to watch videos, play games, etc.  Some games also need Shockwave Player, so it makes
sense to install them both.  This is a one-time installation.  

For Flash Player:  Click
HERE.  Uncheck the box to install Google Toolbar -- and click DOWNLOAD NOW.

For Shockwave Player:  Click
HERE.  Click  AGREE AND INSTALL NOW.


A website says Javascript Is Not Enabled:
1.  Open Internet Explorer.
2.  Click Tools, then click Internet Options
3.  Click the Security tab.
4.  Click the Custom Level key.
5.  Scroll down to the Scripting section (near the bottom).
6.  Under Active Scripting, select Enable.
7.  Click OK.
8.  Click OK.
9.  Close and reopen Internet Explorer.


Stop Internet Explorer From Suggesting Sites or Filling In Words As I Type:
With Internet Explorer open, click Tools, Internet Options, and click the Advanced tab.  Under the Browsing section,
see the 11th entry entitled
Enable Suggested Sites and click to uncheck the box.  About 12 lines further down,
uncheck the box
Use Inline AutoComplete.  Click Apply.  Click the Content tab.  In the AutoComplete section, click
the
Settings button.  Click to uncheck the boxes.  Click OK and OK again to close Internet Explorer. The changes will
take effect the next time Internet Explorer is opened.



A Website Says I Need To Have Cookies Enabled:
With Internet Explorer open, click Tools, Internet Options.  Click the Privacy tab and the Advanced button.  Click to
check the box
Override Automatic Cookie Handling.  Ensure that Accept is selected for First-Party Cookies and Third-
Party Cookies, and click to check the box,
Always Allow Session Cookies.  Click OK and OK.



Disable These Annoying Security Messages:
  • Do you want to view only the web page content that was delivered securely?
  • This page contains both secure and non-secure items.  Do you want to display the non-secure items?

  1. Open Internet Explorer and click Tools, Internet Options, then the Security tab.
  2. In the window Select A Zone To View Or Change Security Settings, click the INTERNET icon.
  3. Click the CUSTOM LEVEL button and move down to the section entitled MISCELLANEOUS.
  4. Locate the line DISPLAY MIXED CONTENT and click Enable and OK.
  5. Message appears: are you sure...?  Click YES, click OK, and close Internet Explorer.



What Version Of Internet Explorer Do I Have?
With Internet Explorer open, Click Help and About Internet Explorer.  Note the version number.  You only need the
first number (7 or 8 or 9, etc) unless tech support needs the entire version number.
